Command Bindings

xPilot provides several commands that can be assigned to keyboard keys, joystick buttons, or hardware switches within X-Plane.

If you’re unfamiliar with configuring command bindings, refer to the X-Plane Manual – Configuring Keyboard Shortcuts.

Available xPilot Commands

  • Radio Push to Talk (PTT)
Assign xPilot: Radio Push-To-Talk (PTT) to transmit on the currently selected radio while connected to the network.

  • Split Audio Channels
Assign xPilot: Split Audio Channels to route COM1 audio to the left channel and COM2 audio to the right channel. This mirrors the Split Audio Channels option in xPilot settings.

  • Toggle Aircraft Labels
Assign xPilot: Toggle Aircraft Labels to show or hide aircraft labels.

  • Toggle Aircraft Sounds
Assign xPilot: Toggle Aircraft Sounds to enable or disable ambient aircraft sounds.

  • Toggle Default X-Plane ATIS
Assign xPilot: Toggle Default X-Plane ATIS to enable or disable the default ATIS. By default, xPilot disables the built-in ATIS while connected to the network.

  • Toggle Messages Window
Assign xPilot: Toggle Messages Window to show or hide the message window. See the note in Messages Window for keyboard binding limitations.

  • Toggle Nearby ATC Window
Assign xPilot: Toggle Nearby ATC Window to show or hide the Nearby ATC window.

  • Toggle Notification Panel
Assign xPilot: Toggle Notification Panel to show or hide the notification panel.

  • Toggle TCAS Control
Assign xPilot: Toggle TCAS Control to request or release TCAS control. If another plugin already owns TCAS targets and does not release them, xPilot will be unable to take control.
